Psychotherapy

In psychotherapeutic sessions I create a safe relation-ship and a safe container for self-exploration. Psychotherapy can deepen the awareness of your patterns, the origins, function and management symptoms, and help become more aware of your needs, values, and strengths.
I specialized in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), often integrating different techniques from trauma- and emotions-focussed therapy-styles in my sessions. I believe that learning from experience drives change. Our mental, emotional, physical and behavioral patterns are created through learning, often during childhood development. Reactualizing and new, corrective experiences allow us to understand and change these patterns. That's why, in addition to psychotherapeutic conversations, a CBT often includes stabilizing exercises, for example to regulate the nervous system, as well as evocative exercises such as exposures, guided imagery, role plays, chair dialogues. These methods enable learning, make coping tangible and encourage the transfer of changes into your life. CBT has proven to be effective for a variety of psychological conditions and is therefore financed by all German health insurance companies.
I offer individual treatments and psychotherapy in group settings, both I German and English. You can find more detailed information about starting psychotherapy here.
Psychotherapeutic groups
The group setting is a great opportunity to experience and resolve themes that occur in the relation to others and that effect the ability to establish satisfying connections. Groups illuminate our vulnerabilities, fears, inner conflicts and strengths. When a group comes together in an understanding, non-judgmental, supportive manner, it can be of great help in correcting wounds from neglectful and abusive relationships.

At the moment I only offer schema-therapeutic groups. Schema therapy is an integrative form of psychotherapy (Jeffrey Young, 1980s). It combines elements of cognitive behavioral therapy with elements from other therapeutic approaches such as Psychoanalysis, Gestalt therapy, and attachment theory. Schema therapy is particularly effective in treating relationship disorders and chronic mental health issues. This approach aims to address parts of the self ("modes") that have developed through experience of neglect or abuse. Through various emotion-evocative techniques schema therapy works to become aware of and address unmet emotional needs, disadvantageous psycho-dynamics and self-protective mechanisms. This type of therapy involves a lot of playing through the internal world allowing for understanding to emerge and exploring changes playfully.
Integration
I offer support regarding the integration of psychedelic experiences. This active approach to integration aims to maximize the transformational power of a psychedelic experience. As a form of harm reduction, it can ease the integration of very challenging psychedelic experiences and reduce harmful processes.
The integration phase after a psychedelic experience is a sensitive time, which can come with certain challenges. My sessions build a safe container for you to express your experience. I accompany the unfolding process of reorganization with gentle presence, supporting you in your individual process of creating meaning and connection to your life. I have a strong background of scientific, western knowledge but also study with indigenous traditions in the Peruvian and Brazilian amazon, bridging contemporary therapeutic frameworks with ancestral knowledge systems. You can be sure that I will listen to you with sensitivity and openness.
My integration sessions are intentionally open for what unfolds naturally. Often reflection evolves, connecting elements of the psychedelic experience with the past, present, self, relations, intentions... This can lead to deeper understanding and the creation of meaning and implementation of change in your life. If needed I can support you in dealing with (post traumatic) stress, or other distressing inner states and psychological crisis professionally.
